Sweet Tomato Basil Hummus

This sweet tomato basil hummus is a great spread or dip for all your favorite sandwiches, crackers, and veggies.

Equipment

  • 1 food processor
  • 1 rubber or silicone spatula (for scraping the sides of the processor)
  • 1 set measuring spoons
  • 1/4 cup measuring cup

Ingredients

  • 15 oz chickpeas
  • ¼ cup tahini
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 10 whole cherry tomatoes
  • 2 sprigs basil leaves, no stem
  • ½ tablespoon honey
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

Making basic hummus

  • Drain and rinse chickpeas.
    Smash and peel garlic.
  • Add chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and canola oil.
    Process 1-2 minutes, until the mixture is combined. Scrape sides as needed.

Adding flavor

  • Add cherry tomatoes and basil leaves. Process until combined. Scrape sides as needed.
  • Add honey, vanilla, and cinnamon. Process until smooth and all ingredients are combined. Scrape sides as needed.
  • Serve!
